Tyra Banks is well-known as a supermodel, appearing in runway shows as well as in Victoria’s Secret’s advertising campaigns and on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.  However, in recent years, Tyra has become more well-known for her work off the catwalk.  Her production company, Bankable Productions, co-produces two very popular shows which Tyra created:  America’s Next Top Model and The Tyra Show.  From her two shows, Tyra makes an estimated $18 million a year, and her net worth is estimated at $75 million.   She owns twenty-five percent of America’s Next Top Model, and her production company Bankable Productions signed a deal to develop projects for Warner Brothers television.  With each of her projects, Tyra has used her power to effect change, whether in the modeling industry or by covering difficult and controversial topics on The Tyra Show.

Each of these applications contain an extensive goods or services description, and indicate that Tyra is serious about expanding, and protecting, her brand.  Interestingly, there do not appear to be any trademark applications filed for BANKABLE PRODUCTIONS or THE TYRA SHOW.   There are AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL applications on file, but those applications are filed in the name of Pottle Productions Inc., a California corporation.

Tyra’s star has been, and continues to be, on the rise.  With all of her hard work and enthusiasm, there are certain to be more trademark application and more branding efforts in her very bright future.
